Alphabuyer Insider for July 27, 2011
Wow. What a month. Late June and early July were major milestones for Alphabuyer and for group buying/social commerce in general. It was and continues to be an exciting month for us.
Our Trademark
The Alphabuyer logo and trademark are now officially under our ownership. You can find some detail about it at Trademarkia.com. The creation of our logo and definition of our brand was something we spent a lot of time on. We feel the time was well work it. Our logo leaves a very strong mark with people — we’ve gotten some great comments about it over the last few months. Maybe sometime we’ll share the other logos we were considering.

- On June 19, the Williamsport Sun-Gazette featured an article about Alphabuyer. The reporter compared Alphabuyer to daily deal businesses like GroupOn and Living Social. John Raisch was interviewed the article and said this regarding energy switching
“People hesitate to switch. The switch rate is still relatively low,” Raisch said. “What Alphabuyer is trying to do is show them it’s okay to switch your provider. It’s regulated by the state. You should be out there looking around [for the best price]. We love to see people gang up and save on their energy bills.”
- On July 7, Philadelphia Inquirer’s Andrew Maykuth wrote an article about PECO’s upcoming rate increase — Peco to raise electricity supply charge. Alphabuyer’s existing offer at that time was noted as the best in market. Thanks for the interview and the mention Andy!
