Natural Gas Choice Update for Pennsylvania

January 12, 2011

A while back we wrote about the lack of competition in PA’s Natural Gas Choice program (see Natural Gas – the forgotten choice in Pennsylvania).  Good news – wholesale natural gas prices have dropped since the fall, bringing some better retail prices and more choices to residential customers.

The Office of Consumer Advocate (OCA) recently published their new shopping guide – in it you’ll find lower rates from some utilities, including Equitable Gas, National Fuel Gas, People’s Natural Gas, Philadelphia Gas Works, UGI Gas, UGI Central Penn, and UGI Penn. Columbia Gas, PECO Gas and TW Phillips have actually raised rates.

We at Alphabuyer think there’s room to do better.  We’re working on a new offer for customers in the UGI Gas region, with pricing lower than anything you’ll see in the guide.  We hope to have this offer open for enrollment within the next week – if you’re interested, visit our site now and enter your email address.  We’ll notify you as soon as the offer is available. The UGI Gas region covers Berks County and much of the Lehigh Valley area, including Allentown, Bedford, Bethlehem, Clearfield, Easton, Hamburg, Hazleton, Harrisburg, Huntington, Lancaster, Lock Haven, Oxford, Pottsville, Reading, Scranton, Shippensburg, Troy, Wilkes-Barre, and Williamsport.
